Thompson Headquarters

Our corporate headquarters showcases our design and construction capabilities and contributes to the downtown Sumter revitalization.

Historic Renovation

The original buildings (38,000 SF) were constructed around 1927-1930 as retail space. The final product creates a dramatic new corporate office environment while also preserving and protecting the original character and detailing of the historic components.

Interior & Rooftop Garden

Interior spaces such as the monumental wood stairs, ornamental tin ceilings, and wood trim were repaired and refinished in original finishes. The buildings were enhanced as necessary for full code compliance with IBC 2006 Building Code requirements. A rooftop garden and terrace was designed to remain invisible from pedestrian traffic in the Historic District below.

Outstanding Work Environment

Our headquarters provides an outstanding work environment and also serves to boost to Sumter’s local economy.
