Thompson Industrial Services, a privately held
progressive company started in 1986, has expanded their
business through the acquisition of Kentco Incorporated Myrtle
Beach Division, thereby, launching Thompson into the Heating
and Air Conditioning arena. Through the acquisition, Thompson
enters into the coastal market of South Carolina with
a proven team of experienced personnel and quality
customers. This rounds out a portfolio of construction services
such as civil, steel erection, equipment setting, pipefitting,
code work and electrical construction.
The Thompson
HVAC Division will service the entire Grand Strand and
Horry County and Georgetown area with a comprehensive and
well-rounded business plan. This plan includes hi-rise construction,
maintenance, commercial and industrial services, as well
as an increased focus on residential service and maintenance
needs. Past projects completed by the Myrtle Beach office
include, the Radisson Hotel at the convention center, Margate
Towers (a thirty-story hi-rise condominium project on the
beach) and shops at Broadway at the Beach, cinemas and restaurants
up and down the Grand Strand.
The HVAC Division employees
have a wealth of HVAC knowledge, including Design Build
capabilities and skills. Technicians are NATE certified and
are highly trained installation and maintenance professionals.
Thompson expects a 25% increase in employment in the HVAC
division in the next few months. Overall Thompson employees
more than 700 employees and serves the Carolinas and neighboring
areas in the Southeast. The services they offer and the customers
they serve are diverse. Industrial clients such as automotive,
electric utility, food processing, petrochemical, pharmaceutical,
pulp and paper, mining and the steel industry have utilized
Thompson's experience and expertise. Thompson continues
to be committed to meeting or exceeding their customer's
requirements for delivering quality services safely, on schedule,
and within budget.
