ABSTRACT
Due to the growth of Thompson Industrial Services, the
equipment at the corporate training facility was insufficient
to support all of the courses being offered. Additionally,
the cost of students from regional offices attending the
classes was much higher due to travel and per diem expenses.
The objective was to produce a facility that would support
all of the current training requirements using actual field
applications. The facility would also allow the inclusion
of additional equipment to support future training requirements
and have the ability to be transported to all of the regional
offices. The result was the production of a mobile training
module that includes equipment identical to that found
at customer sites, allowing the “hands on” training in
all of the waterjet applications currently being provided.
In addition, the training module supports both safety and
vacuum training. All levels of personnel, from new hire
to superintendents can be trained using the module and
annual skills refresher training is fully supported. The
module also serves as a test bed for new equipment and
jetting techniques, prior to their introduction into the
field. |
